When I first heard of Hickies, I thought they would be perfect for me since I have a mobility issue and it's hard for me to tie my shoes. I also thought they would be great for my grandson, who hasn't learned to tie his shoes yet. These elastic laces are sleek, flexible, and easy to use.
The main problem I had was getting the laces adjusted so my shoes weren't too tight. There are several different ways to use them, and the Hickies website has several great ideas and examples on how to lace up shoes. I received two sets of laces and instructions on how to use them.
So far I like the laces and like I said earlier, I had to tweak them a little to figure out how to make them comfortable and not too tight. For my grandson, I just used the regular technique on his tennis shoes and that worked just fine for him. He also thought they were "cool" and liked how they looked. He wanted to try them on before I finished putting the last few laces in the shoes, but this is how they looked on his feet.
Overall, I would say this is a fun and ingenious product, it was definitely a big hit with my grandson. As for my shoes, it is a lot easier to just slip them on, but I would probably opt for a different color (there are several to choose from). There are laces available for adults and children, but the ones they sent me worked just fine on my grandson's shoes.
